I love you, my Brother.

I watched as he fell.
Watched as  his eyes lost their life.
Watched as all he was faded into nothing.
I screamed but the sound was nothing compared to the way I felt.
I ran, ran to him, not giving up, not wanting it to be true, not wanting my life to have no reason.
I hugged him close to me, begging for him to come back, begging for him not to leave me alone in this scary world, begging him to smile just once more.
I looked into his lifeless eyes and saw the ghost of his final smile in them, his final laugh, his final wish.
I cried, knowing the tears would do nothing but still praying he would hear them and come back to comfort me, to tell me everything would be ok.
But I knew better. I knew he was gone, he was never coming back no matter how I begged or cried or screamed.
Some one came from behind me and tried to pull me from his corpse but I gripped him tighter, never wanting to let go. I felt them, my friends, our friends, gather around us and hold us.
They were all crying with me, but no understanding the pain I felt for my best friend, my brother.
I held him because he was my other half, my twin, the biggest piece of my soul and here I sat, holding his lifeless body in my arms with our friends and family around us.
Mother cries as hard as I do and clings to me, begging me to tell her its not true; father sit next to her, just looking at the lifeless face of his son and brother is holding sister as she screams and kicks and cries while he just lets a few tears stream silently down his face, not accepting the image in front of him.
As I look at their faces I know I must be strong for them because that's what you would want me to do. To smile and make them feel better but I cant.
Not without you.
You were the one who always held us together, who made me feel like there was always going to be a tomorrow, but now there never will be.
Not for you.
I look at your pale face and know what I must do.
I smile a smile I know you will never see and say the words I know you will never hear.
"I love you, my brother."
I carry your body to the field where we would play as children and lay you down on the grass.
I watch as the flames consume your body and smile.
Your ashes fill the sky and I hear the echo of your laugh for the last time.
"In another life time, Brother."
